Our results put us on track to be in the top 2% of schools nationally, and we have made gains in almost every key headline measure. A huge congratulations to our students, staff and parents!
This wonderful set of results has been made possible through our dedicated teaching team, the support from families and the incredible tenacity and effort from our Year 11 students throughout their school career.
Particular successes were in PRE with students achieving almost 2 grades above their target, and English Literature, Drama and History with students achieving more than 1 grade above their target. 79% of our students achieved a grade 4 in both English & Maths (an increase of 5% since last year), which is a key that unlocks a vast range of opportunities for the future, allowing our students to lead a life of genuine choice. We are delighted that almost 80% of students are on track to stay with us for sixth form to study appropriate courses. This means we can continue to use our expertise of these students and their families to drive and meet their aspirations. All this is testament to the hard work and tenacity of our Year 11 students and their families, teachers and pastoral support.
Hear from some of our pupils:
Arrandeep Pandhal achieved 6 grade 9s and 3 grade 8s, and is staying here at AJK to study English Literature, History & Politics: “I feel elated. I put my success down to revision using the blurting method, dedication and punctuality – I have been on time every day for every lesson. In the future I want to study History or Law at university.”
Nabila Islam achieved 4 grade 9s and 5 grade 8s, and will be staying at AJK to study Biology, Chemistry and Psychology: “I am so surprised and happy. I was organised & managed my time well – I knew what I needed to do each day. I got really excited about my subjects and put effort in.”
Francisco Cevallos Aguilar joined us partway through Year 11 from Ecuador. “I found school here really different from Ecuador. I only spoke basic English so it was very difficult for me to understand lessons. I learned English, worked in the areas I found difficult and put lots of effort in. I worked around 4 extra hours per day.” He achieved a grade 8 in Maths and grade 7s in Science, Computer Science and Music. He is going to stay here to study Maths, Computer Science, Physics and Spanish and wants to be a software engineer.
Gifty Masaki made exceptional progress, achieving an average of almost 3 grades higher than her targets (5 9s, 1 8, 3 6s): “I am so happy with my results – I feel like all my hard work paid off. I put my success down to dedication, courage to go above and beyond, and aspiration – you need an end goal and to say what you want to yourself and then prove to yourself you can get there. I am going to be staying here to study History, Drama and English, and want to become a barrister and then a judge.”
Grace Kitenge made exceptional progress, achieving an average of almost 3 grades higher than her targets (1 9, 5 8s, 3 7s): “I feel great about my results. I had discipline, put in hard work and had a goal. I tried my best to have a good work-life balance. I am staying at AJK to study English Literature, Sociology and Biology and want to do Law or Business in the future.”
Ayub Abdulkadir achieved 6 grade 8’s, 2 grade 7’s, 1 grade 6 & 1 grade 5: “I am happy with my results. I saw my results in mocks and wasn’t happy with them, so I listened to my teachers and put a lot of effort in, around 3-4 hours of revision per day to bring my grades up. For example, I went from triple science 6-6-7 to 8-8-7. I am staying at AJK to study Computer Science, Physics and Maths and want to do something related to Computer Science.”
Emre Ozsoy achieved 6 grade 9’s, 1 grade 8, 1 grade 7 and 1 grade 6: “I am very happy, especially with the 9 in Maths. Hard work wins – I was dedicated to my work and maintained a good work-life balance. I am staying at AJK to study Psychology, PRE & History.”
