On Thursday 26th November, Year 8 pupils had their English and Drama Curriculum Day. Half the year group went to the V&A to study set design and then went to watch Billy Elliot at the Victoria Palace Theatre. Half the year group stayed in school and had a workshop with a director who had worked for the National Theatre, a set design mask-making workshop and a scriptwriting session. The day was a great success and pupils learned a lot about the different roles in the theatre. They also impressed the general public, with one person saying, ‘The school should be incredibly proud. From the moment the lights when down, every single student present acted impeccably.’ I look forward to the next one on Thursday 28th January.
