Curriculum Day

On Thursday all pupils took part in curriculum day. Year 7 took part in an Art, Design and Technology day. Pupils in school took part in robotics, cooking workshops and designed their own coat of arms to represent their character. The remaining half of Year 7 visited the Tate Gallery to view pieces of art pupils will be studying in their lessons. They produced some really thoughtful and creative responses to this art in their booklets. Year 8 took part in a Drama day. Those in school designed their own masks for stage, were taught by a professional in how to direct a performance and wrote and performed their own script. The other half of the year visited the V and A Museum to look at set design over the year and then enjoyed the fantastic West End performance of Aladdin at the Prince Edward Theatre. Year 9 took part in a New Technologies day to develop their IT literacy. They took part in programming a microbit computer, coding the movements of a robot and taking part in group work to develop their computational thinking.
