Wonderful Work in Art

This term in Art, Year 8 and 9 have been working on their ‘Identity Box’ project. All pupils selected a story which they justified linked to their own identity, and this story was represented within a box through drawings and objects. All of Year 8 and 9 demonstrated high levels of curiosity when researching the work of Joseph Cornell, which inspired their art work.

Pupils showed adaptability and tenacity when learning a variety of techniques and processes in order to create successful final boxes. Pupils developed their pen drawing techniques, as well as creating 2D card layers and sourcing found objects to present within their boxes.

Some final pieces have been selected and will soon be placed into professional glass cabinets around the school. As you can see in the image, the pieces are very impressive and worthy of a place within any Art gallery, such as the Tate! Well done to all of Year 8 and 9!
