AJK Students Visit Universities

Over the 13th and 14th July all of our pupils went to visit universities as part of our commitment to raising pupil aspirations. All of Year 7 went to The University of Oxford. Here, they visited two out of the following colleges: Brasenose, Mansfield, Christ Church and St John’s. The pupils were inspired by their beautiful surroundings and took the opportunity with both hands, showing an excellent growth mind set. All of the staff of all colleges commented on how curious and inquisitive the pupils were. We look forward to returning next year.

Year 8 went to separate universities based on their own aspirations, or their attainment. Pupils were lucky enough to try musical theatre at ArtsEd, defibrillating at London South Bank, accounting at City, Mandarin at SOAS and  Science and Literature at St Catherine’s College. Pupils also visited The University of Reading for a bespoke campus tour. The trips were enjoyed by all pupils, and it was great to see pupils getting to grips with the concept of university, and university life.. We look forward to continuing our work on raising aspirations, and are excited about all of the opportunities that can be made available to our pupils.
