AJK FORMS THEIR FIRST ECO-COMMITTEE
Last term, a group of 7 Year 7 and 8 students worked together to form ARK John Keats’ first Eco-Committee. After conducting a detailed survey of the school’s energy and water use as well as an environmental quality survey, they designed their own paper recycling scheme to encourage all form groups to think more carefully about how much paper they use and what they do with it. Over 8 weeks they collected and weighed enough paper to make one 11m tree, raising awareness of recycling and earning the school its Eco-Schools’ Bronze Award. Congratulations to all students involved and good luck to those new students continuing the hard work.
