Year 7 get musical
It has been a really busy and exciting first half term for the Music Department. Some excellent work has been completed by pupils in their lessons, including some really confident performances of songs from Oliver! and very inventive vocal compositions about ARK John Keats with lyrics including: ‘Being resilient is being brilliant’ and ‘Kindness, effort and aspiration, Bring success to our gold feather nation.’
Our timetabled and after school enrichment activities have also had a great start, with Choir confidently completing their first performance of ‘Colours’ in our Celebration Assembly, which also saw the first of our ‘talent’ performances by Leah-May Dunne, who performed ‘Proud’ superbly. It has also been good to see pupils committed to attending our after school activities (Theory Club on Monday, Band on Tuesday and Ukulele Club on Thursday) and making some really excellent progress.
There was a great response to the information sent home about instrumental lessons, and fifty-three pupils will be starting to learn instruments within the next week, with timetables going out over the next few days.
