Our pupils have just taken part in two pillar days over the last fortnight to combine all the qualities and skills that make out school so great. Pupils have had university and museum visits, geography fields trips for their GCSE and exciting and challenging workshops in school. One key highlight over the past two weeks was the opportunity to welcome George Vulkan to the school. George escaped from Nazi controlled Austria just before the outbreak of WW2 and was able to speak to our Year 10 pupils about his experiences of Nazi occupation and the pain and resistance that Jewish people across Europe experienced during the Holocaust. Our pupils asked some fantastic and insightful questions around a really difficult topic and demonstrated the great work they have done in developing their character and knowledge through the study of the Humanities. We hope to replicate this experience for all pupils in Year 10 going forward.
