This term parents from both primary and secondary came together to take part in a workshop around character. Mr Nabarro and Ms Judge talked through the why behind the character programme – developing our pupils’ moral and cultural wellbeing to ensure they can be resilient and compassionate adults at university and work – and talking through what exactly pupils cover in these session. Parents then took part in a character debate which allowed them to experience the character programme themselves and thought about how they could use character language at home to support this aspect of their child’s development. We had well over 40 parents who said it was a “brilliant session they would use with their daughter at home” and how useful the session was for thinking about “what language I can use with my child to support them with their honesty and home learning at home”. Please find attached the resources from the session if you were not able to make it. If you attended and would like to share some feedback please email me directly at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Our next and final parent workshop for parents will be on Thursday 7th June at 8.40 am. This will be on our Mastery Curriculum and how you can support your child’s IT literacy, numeracy and reading at home. We look forward to seeing you there.
