Wonderful Work in Computing
Year 10 Computer Science
Do you know what 01001001 represents?
Do you know how to assign a value to a variable?
Do you know the difference between lossless and lossy compression?
…Our Year 10 computer scientists do!
In terms 1 and 2 they have been learning about the fundamentals of data representation, discovering how numbers, text, images and sound can be represented using binary and hexadecimal numbers, as well as how data can be compressed. They have also been learning the basics of programming using Python and coding short text-based programs and games, using variables, loops and conditions.
