Professor Lord Robert Winston at Ark John Keats

We were delighted to welcome Professor Lord Robert Winston to Ark John Keats on the 24th of June. Lord Winston is a Professor of Science and Society at Imperial College London and a member of the House of Lords. He has written many popular science books, and appears frequently on science documentaries.

Lord Winston spoke to year 8 science classes in our science lecture theatre. He asked them many questions, and they asked him some of their own. He focussed on what it took to be a great scientist, telling them, “two of you working together have more brain capacity than Einstein. Collaboration is the key to success.”

He then spoke at a full school assembly, which even included some of our year 2 science scholars. He spoke about his career, his discoveries and the role of curiosity in his career.
