Wonderful Work in History

Year 7 have been practicing their source inference skills in history. This is a really important skill, which allows them to look at historical sources from the past and work out what they tell us about the way that people lived. Here, they have been looking at an extract from a historian’s book, discussing how the Roman army improved after the Marian Reforms in 107 BC. This is a really complex topic from over 2,000 years ago!

In the picture shown here, Nabila has shown great presentation, detail and historical thinking in looking at a source. She has drawn four different pictures to show what each quotation makes her think of, to help her to make four really good inferences that explain how the Roman army improved. Well done, Nabila!
