Wonderful Work in Computer Science
This term Year 10 have been learning about computer networks. They have learned about the different network arrangements, which include:
• Personal Area Network (PANs)
• Local Area Networks (LANs)
• Wide Area Networks (WANs)
Through their study they learned about the use and coverage of each network type and about network topologies, such as star and bus networks and understanding contexts each would be most suited to.
Furthermore, pupils have been learning about wired and wireless networks and discovered how data is transferred across networks as electrical signals, light pulses and as radio waves. They have also learned about the protocols, which are agreed rules between client devices and servers, for exchanging data. To help them both learn and recall the names and functions of the different protocols, Year 10 created colour-coded posters summarising this information.
